If you are a student, or an entrepreneur, you should consider using Paint.Net. It is an open source software that you can download and use to create graphic images for your memo or report. For many purposes, you can use this software program instead of buying a software program like Adobe Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.
Wikipedia has a good description about this tool at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paint.Net. On this page you should be able to find a link about a tutorial of how to use Paint.NET. I did not have to read the tutorial because this software product is quite user-friendly.
If you want to create an image from your computer screen, you can just accomplish it in a few steps.
- Press PrtSc to capture
- Start Paint.NET and press Ctrl V to paste into Paint.NET
- Use the Rectangle Select tool to select the image region that you want to use
- Press Ctrl C to copy.
- Click File and select new to create a new image
- Press Ctrl V to paste the select image
- Then save the image.
There is an animated tutorial to show the basic feature of Paint.NET. I found it listed on Paint.NET forum:
I hope you enjoy this software program as much as I do.
